2025 Kids’ Christmas Worship Service

Dec 14, both services

At Roseburg Alliance Church, we have a fun and meaningful tradition of inviting our kids to lead a worship service for the congregation during the Christmas season. Here is what you need to know…

Who?

All children preschool-5th grade that would like to participate.

When?

December 14, during the 9am and 10:45am worship services. Rehearsal Dec 13 at 10am at RAC. Rehearsal is not mandatory but is highly recommended as it helps the kids know what to expect on Sunday morning and calms nerves a bit.

What?

Kids will be singing multiple Christmas songs together on stage and a few kids will be reading (or reciting) parts of scripture. Here is the YouTube playlist to practice at home.

What should they wear?

Kids may wear anything festive: from Christmas sweaters to fancy Christmas outfits. Kids may also dress up as shepherds/angels/etc. Some costumes will be available Saturday the 14th in the lobby. First come, first served as there are not enough for everyone.

What if my child doesn’t want to participate?

That is ok! Any kid that wants to be on stage singing, is welcome to jump up and join (including visitors!) And any kid that would prefer to sit with their families, may do that as well.

Do I check in my kids? Is there still class?

Yes and yes! Please check your children in as usual at the kiosk in the lobby. If your child is participating, they will meet in our “Kids Club” room down the hall. If they would rather sit out, they may sit with you in the sanctuary until worship time is over, then head to class. Check-out will be the same as usual. Please make sure your child’s nametag is placed on their back for the service.

Anything else I need to know?
We realize Sunday schedules may not be flexible, but if your kiddo is able to sing during both services on Dec 14th, that would be AMAZING. There are few things more awkward than having a full house first service and then only a handful of kids second. If kids are only staying for the singing second service (and then going home), they do not need to be checked in at the kiosk again. Please pick them up at their classroom after worship with your first service tag. (I also recommend NOT sitting in the sanctuary second service if you intend to leave...again, super awkward when half the congregation gets up and leaves half-way through.) If you want a good video/picture of your child or good seats for visitors and guests to see the kids, attending  second service instead of first may be your best option for a good view.

One more pro-move for this busy Sunday: park in the lower gravel lot if you are able so that visitors and others with limited mobility can take the spots closer to the church building.

I think that is all for now. Thank you for sharing your kids with us! They are each such a joy!

Please let me know if you have question.

May Christ be with you!
